The boy who never ages, who always wants to have fun
He was never the hero; the truth about him will prove that.
He enslaved Wendy, among others, and forced her to bear his seed
Those children who would be known well and save her are their own blood.
Her brothers would lead Wendy’s children against their father
To begin the revolution on the island, it was Jack whom they would send.
Jack was the one who would rally the troops
He found them and brought them back to the island as he taught them the ropes.
Each lost child was special, no two exactly alike
Each had an ability that set them apart yet connected all of the lost children together
The queen with black hair and snow colored skin
She had a way with snowy animals unlike the rest of her kind.
The green-skinned woman with fiery powers
She could transform fair-skinned during her sleep whether at night or day.
The sweet loving brother and sister who had a love of gingerbread
They made a bakery together out of sweet things and were the best in the land.
The soot-covered grouchy old man obsessed with names
He loses his shoes as much as he plays guessing games.
The hulking giant who likes to hang out above the clouds
He’s a sweetheart who likes to play games with friends to prove himself a man.
There is a man with powers like no other, the one who caused the myth of powerful sorcery to rise
He is actually a shapeshifting dragon with telekinetic abilities with a talent for wielding a sword.
All of these lost children and more
Jack brought them all back to the island to begin the war and end the cruel one’s reign.
In a battle for justice and freedom bloodshed would pour
There would never be enough time to deal with the heartbreak of those who died for the cause.
In the end, the horrendous youth did fall
Upon his death, there was at last freedom for all of those who survived.
After the battle, the lost children left the island for good
To build new lives for themselves which no longer felt like theft.
Some merely wandered while others put in roots
It was not long before the stories of these children grew legs.
As the stories were told and grew
The facts of the stories were changed by accident.
The truth of the stories was lost as much as the children have been
It was not until a survivor told the true story, that was told to her, where the truth came out.
Some of the lost children still roam the earth to this day
Even though centuries have passed, many of them have been immortal from birth.
History may have gotten their stories wrong, but none of them mind
The lost children believe that the truth is something each individual is meant to find on one’s own.
