She had a job to do and the brown English bulldog with a white belly was not helping. The dog’s name was Honey Pecan, and she was extremely friendly. Her brother, Aries, was frightened of everything including her. Honey was actively begging for belly rubs and attempting to lick Vivianne’s face as she attempted to watch the three-year-old, Josh. Aries was keeping his distance, which was somewhat helpful.
Josh giggled as Vivianne lifted him into the air with her legs. He lay on her legs as she lifted him until her legs reached nearly vertical. He proceeded to fall backward, his legs going over his own head, and she caught him with her arms and helped him fully flip over and land on his feet. As she did this, Josh giggled more, and Honey tried to lick Vivianne’s face and half lay on her at the same time.
Josh stood up and ran back around Vivianne’s legs for her to flip him again as Vivianne tried to push Honey’s face away. She did not succeed before Josh was laying against her legs once more. She pushed Honey’s face away from her own once more before lifting Josh with her legs again. This was one workout she was not bothered doing regularly. Her stamina seemed to be improving since the last time she had babysat him.
She flipped Josh over her head again as Honey stood up and walked off. Vivianne focused on ensuring Josh landed on his feet and waited as he ran around to her legs once more. This time he stayed facing her and pushed her legs. She followed his pushing, opening her legs slightly in the process in bewilderment. He tried to dive between her legs and she scooted back. He tried again and she repeated the movement. Realization dawning, she stood up and widened her stance.
“Tunnel?” she asked him. “You want to go under the tunnel?”
He giggled, nodded, and dove between her legs to crawl underneath. She stayed in place and watched him stand up behind her and run back to her front. He crawled under her again and repeated the process a few times before she walked over to her backpack to get a drink from her water bottle. Josh’s father was there and watching with a smile.
“Having fun?” he asked.
Vivianne nodded and replied, “we’ve been playing a lot. Made some masks, played with toys and balloons, and were just flipping.”
“He likes that,” Josh’s father said as he watched Josh run over with a big smile.
“You having fun?” he asked his son.
Josh nodded his head and ran to his father for a hug. The two shared a brief hug before letting go and Josh turned back to Vivianne. He was asking where the balloon went.
